INDORE: At least five people died in a crash on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway near Ratlam early Friday morning. The victims were travelling in a Maharashtra-registered car. The vehicle, heading from Ratlam towards Gujarat via Jhabua, reportedly lost control near the eight lane stretch passing over the Mahi river in the Raoti police station limits. ASP Rakesh Khaka said all five occupants including Danish, son of Asman Choudhary, 15, Durgesh Prasad, 35, Gulam Choudhary, 70, Khalis, son of Gulam Choudhary, and one other, residents of Vinoba Bhave Nagar in Mumbai.Local authorities said the victims were en route from Delhi towards Mumbai and were passing by Bhimpura near the Mahi river when the car veered off the road. Police teams and emergency responders reached the spot and initiated further procedures, while efforts are underway to formally confirm identities and contact family members.Investigators are examining the cause of the loss of control, while the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
